Hilong Staff Member Awarded Support from the Shanghai Talent Development Fund 2015

(December 4, 2015, Shanghai) Yu Ronghua of Shanghai Hilong Petroleum Tubular Goods Research Institute under Hilong Group has recently been awarded support from the Shanghai Talent Development Fund 2015. This is another laurel that Hilong has won following the Shanghai Leading Talent, Excellent Pace-setter in Scientific Research and the Morning Star awards.


Yu Ronghua is currently Assistant to President and Research & Development Lab Director of the Shanghai Hilong Petroleum Tubular Goods Research Institute. During the ten years of service at the Research Institute, he has made full use of the technology and innovation platform of Hilong to successfully host and participate in more than ten national, provincial and Hilong scientific research projects, and has obtained over 30 patents and published over ten dissertations, providing powerful scientific research and technical support for the technical innovation and development of Hilong.


"Being awarded this laurel is both a recognition of the scientific research capability and level of Hilong's scientific research staff, and an affirmation and incentive for Hilong in its development of high-end talents and construction of its scientific research team," Yuan Pengbin, Chief Engineer of Hilong and President of the Shanghai Hilong Petroleum Tubular Goods Research Institute, said, "In the future, the Shanghai Hilong Petroleum Tubular Goods Research Institute will persist in using academicians and experts work stations, postdoctoral mobile work stations as well as engineering technology centers as its base, to further build up the Hilong technical innovation platform, create a better environment for the growth of high-end research talents, reinforce the development of technical innovation teams, and accelerate the conversion of technical innovation fruits, to provide sustainably strong talent support and research and technical security for the development of Hilong."


The Shanghai Talent Development Fund was founded in 2007. It is an important measure taken by Shanghai for further implementing its principal strategy of rejuvenating Shanghai through science and education, selecting and developing specialized technical talents, optimizing its environment for technical innovation and independent business creation, and encouraging technical professionals to conduct technical innovation and covert technical fruits into production capacity. Application for support from this fund is made once a year, and every year no more than 100 applicants would be successful. This year only 76 applicants passed the evaluation and obtained the financial support.
