(April 30th, 2015, Shanghai) Hilong employee Lu Fei was honored with the title of “Shanghai Model Worker” at the 2015 Shanghai “May Day” International Labor Day Celebrations & Commending Conference for Model Workers and Advanced Workers held in Shanghai on April 29th, 2015.

Having joined Shanghai Hilong Drill Pipe Co., Ltd. under the umbrella of Hilong in 2006, Lu Fei grew from a production line employee into middle management in under 10 years. He has solved over 100 major production problems, oversaw over 70 technological innovations, and obtained 6 patents, creating millions in economic benefits for the company.

With certificate of honor in hand at the commending conference, Lu Fei said: “This honor is not mine alone. It belongs to Hilong which has trained me for nearly a decade. It is Hilong that has given me the opportunity and platform for growth. It is an honor that I can work in a team like Hilong’s that is full of hope, passion, and innovation.”

“Under Hilong’s talent development strategy, Lu Fei has grown from an entry-level employee to one of our most outstanding employee representatives. This honor is not only his personal achievement, but it should also be held as a banner for all Hilong employees to carry forward the spirit of model workers and the spirit of labor,” Hilong Human Resources Director Li Shenghong said, adding that “Hilong attaches great importance to building a favorable environment for the growth and progress of employees, constantly perfects its management mechanism of employee career development planning, and has improved incentives for multichannel competition for development among skills-based, technology-based, and management talents. Advanced and model workers have continued to emerge; they are the main force that drives Hilong’s sustainable development. In the future, by virtue of its open and inclusive Hilong culture, Hilong will cultivate more superior talents capable of promoting enterprise and social development.”

The Shanghai Model Worker Competition is held once every four years to recognize the outstanding contributions to Shanghai’s construction and development of model workers and advanced collectives from all walks of life.
